Martha Groves

Mrs. Martha Edwina Groves, 79, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, April 25, 2020. She was born in Clinton, Ohio on April 11, 1941 to the late Edwin and Martha Spargur. She was a retiree of Wake Forest University. Edwina loved spending time with and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her daily sudoku and always looked forward to getting together with her senior lunch group. In addition to her parents, Edwina was preceded in death by two children, Alicia Rainey Williams and Shawn Rainey, and a sister, Lonnie Palmer. She is survived by her brother Danny Spargur (Marianne); one son, Fred Groves (Becky); four grandchildren, Jeremy Seagle (Mary), Kelly Davis (Seth), Sarah Grace Groves, and Jack Groves; and four great grandchildren, Sean Davis, Breanna Seagle, Trey Seagle, and Katie Seagle. There will be no formal services at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Senior Services, INC 2895 Shorefair Dr. NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
