Ms. Martha Hall Brown Foster, 87, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at her daughter's home. She was born January 23, 1925 in Forsyth County to Mangum Jacob Crosley Brown and Lela Ruth Fogleman Brown. Ms. Foster retired from AT&T in 1986, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church for many years, where she served on the Council and a member of the choir. She also sent cards to the sick and was a member of the Lutheran Church Women. For the past three years, she was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Her paternal grandfather was a Lutheran minister and her maternal grandfather was a Methodist minister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Earl Foster, Jr., Howard ""Sonny"" Foster; three brothers, Carroll, Donnie and Parker Brown; and a son-in-law, Don Harper. Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca Harper of High Point, Linda McDaniel (Tommy) of Winston-Salem, Martha Jo Craft (Kerry) of Pfafftown, Terri Smith (Jimmy) of Winston-Salem, and Sheila F. Hensley of Leland; a daughter-in-law, Louise Foster of Durham; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jean Brown and Ethel Foster, both of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Halipilias officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Mt.
