Marshall “Beau” Canfield Ashworth passed away on March 31, 2021. He was born in Rochester, New York to Edward Earl Ashworth and Gretta Marshall Ashworth. He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Timothy John Ashworth. He is survived by four siblings: Linda McLean of Dayton, OH; Kathryn (Tom) Lamal, of Fairbanks, AK; Mark (Kim) Ashworth, of Rockwood, TN; and Beth (Bill) Byrd of Winston-Salem. Also mourning his loss are special cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Marshall (or Beau, as he was known to his family members) graduated from T.W. Andrews High School in High Point, NC and attended UNC-Charlotte and UNC-Chapel Hill. He served in the Navy, had fished commercially, managed fine dining, was a tech troubleshooter, and a talented photographer. Marshall loved the Tarheels, and all animals. He was an avid reader of books and newspapers and loved to discuss politics and world affairs with anyone who would engage with him. Over his lifetime he lived in various places, including New York state, Alaska, Florida, Oregon, Washington, and North Carolina. He will be missed by family and friends alike. A family gathering will occur sometime in the future to celebrate Beau’s life. Memorials may be made to City with Dwellings or the Humane Society in Winston-Salem, NC.
