Shane was born on June 17, 1972, at Forsyth Hospital to Marshall and Pamela Strickland. He was a son, brother, father, and grandfather who touched the lives of many with his warm heart and fearless spirit.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Alexander Strickland, Dora Mae Holmes, Elmo (Buster) Pinyan, Polly Pinyan, and his cherished sister, Jessica Faith Strickland.
Shane is survived by his loving family, including his parents, Marshall Strickland (Kay Goins) and Pamela Estes (Don Estes), and siblings Heather Strickland (Austin McHenry, Cody Livengood) and Kayla Strickland (MaKiah Stuck, Miley Stuck), Alexander Strickland and Michael Strickland. His cherished children, Kimberly Paige Boman (Gram Mikel Boman) and Cody Strickland (Hailey Bryant Strickland), as well as his grandchildren, Gage Kíli Boman, Temperance Faith Boman, and Aubrey Kait Strickland.
Shane lived life to the fullest, embracing every opportunity for adventure. If it had a motor, you could be sure he was eager to discuss, fix, or drive it. The DMV in Kernersville was no stranger to him; he had a passion for cars, owning hundreds over the years. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enjoyment of fishing at the coast and spending cherished moments in the tobacco fields with his family, where he created some of his fondest memories.
A proud Lumbee Indian, Shane enjoyed returning home to Robeson County to attend pow wows, celebrating his heritage and connecting with family and friends. He was a man of many talents—donning the roles of a race car driver, heavy equipment operator, and even participating in tough man boxing contests during his prime.
Above all, Shane had a remarkable ability to love fiercely, holding his family and friends close to his heart. His infectious spirit, adventurous nature, and deep affection for those around him leave us with countless beautiful memories to cherish.
