Marlene McGuire Cook

Mrs. Marlene McGuire Cook, 84 of Winston-Salem died on March 7, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Cook was the daughter of the late Henry and Della Jane Walsh McGuire. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Luther L. Cook; two children Cynthia Cook and Kenneth Cook; two brothers, Clay McGuire and Jim McGuire; four sisters, Dorothy McGuire, Hessie Parlier, Addie Church and Lura Greene. Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and a member of Rosemont Baptist Church. Mrs. Cook is survived by her daughter Freda Cook Sanders of the home and one sister Vena Jones of Newland, NC. Brother and sister in law Bill and Florence Cook, Ted and Elwanda Cook, Mary Key and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rosemont Baptist Church 415 West Clemmonsville Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27127. The Graveside service will be at Parklawn Memorial Park Friday March 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mark Reed and Gordon Miller officiating. Online condolence can be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
