Marlene Blackmon

Ms. Marlene Ferguson Blackmon, 76, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical center.  She was born in Thomaston, Georgia on August 31, 1945 to the late Marcus and Daisy Waller Ferguson.  Marlene graduated from the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in 1966 and worked as a nurse for over 45 years.  She was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years, and she also loved to read, watch movies with her grandkids, and travel.  Preceding her in death was her husband, William Blackmon.  Surviving is a daughter, Michelle Cline (Rodney); son, William Moon and two grandchildren, Tucker and Tyler Cline.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday February 9th at Hayworth- Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway from 5:30-7:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
