Mark Alan Furches, 57, of Clemmons, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home. He was born July 20, 1955 in Winston-Salem, the son of the late James Marvin and Margaret Bauguss Furches. Mark grew up in the Waughtown community where he was a member of First United Church of Christ. He later moved his membership to Friedberg Moravian Church. He was a 1973 graduate of Parkland High School. He was also a graduate of Forsyth Technical Institute and served with the US Navy. He was a Senior Project Engineer at Thomas Bus Company in High Point. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors and spending time with his family at the beach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Furches. Survivors include his wife, Anna Furches and his son, Eric Furches of the home; two sisters, Marlene Oakley and Marie Furches of Winston-Salem; his cousin, Tim Mason of Winston-Salem; and a close friend, Ewan Turley of Scotland. There will be a visitation for family and friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. Services will be private. The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to the Southside Team of Hospice and Palliative Care Center for their care and support.
