Mark Stevens Celender

CELENDER Mark Stevens Celender, 57 of Lewisville, a loving husband and father, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 23, 2013, at his North Carolina residence. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 9, 1956 to Robert Joseph and Lois Cunningham Celender (deceased). A graduate of Fox Chapel High School and the University of Pittsburgh, Mark was a true renaissance man and an avid outdoorsman, lover of music, and former journalist with Gannett News Service in Washington, DC. Preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Brennan Dawson; he is survived by his three children, Kelsey, Allie and Dylan; his father; sisters, Linda Stout (Blaine) and Sandra Cavlovich (Chris); and brother, Robert Celender (Sue). He leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held 1:00PM Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Virginia 23060 or to the American Cancer Society, 4 A Oak Branch, Drive, Greensboro, N.C. 27407.
