Mark Stephen Borgna, 67, of Stokesdale, NC, died the morning of August 14, 2021, at home, with his beloved family.
Mark was born April 21, 1954, in Binghamton, NY to Harold and Maryann Borgna. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Georgianna, in July 1976. Mark cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved the outdoors, landscaping, canoeing, fishing, bow hunting, playing the harmonica and grilling delicious meals for his family and friends. With Georgianna by his side, he never missed his children’s many sporting events or the opportunity to make his granddaughters giggle or swoop them up in his arms. Mark made a wonderful life through service and help to others. He relied on Almighty God to direct his life. Before having their own children, Mark and Georgianna led youth programs and activities for the church, such as picnics, camp outs and sporting activities.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Georgianna Borgna; along with his two children and their spouses, Brandon and Sarah Jo Borgna of Summerfield, NC and two grandchildren, Charlotte and Natalie Borgna, Brittney and Chad Johnson of Cincinnati, OH; sisters and brothers-in-law Carol and Ken Hollenbeck of Johnson City, NY, and Diane and Rick Paradis of Raleigh, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law Rick and Josie Borgna of Schenectady, NY, Cheryl (Kevin) Borgna of Wake Forest, NC, and John and Beth Borgna of Endicott, NY and many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Maryann, and brothers David and Kevin.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, at the Eastlawn Mausoleum Chapel in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Pastor Craig Scott officiating. Family will receive friends at Mark and Georgianna’s home immediately following the service, 910 Eastshore Circle, Stokesdale, NC. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Borgna family.
