Marjorie Ellen Mullen Hines

Winston-Salem - Marjorie Ellen Mullen Hines departed this life on Sunday, February 20, 2011 for her reward of eternal grace. Margie was born in Winston-Salem on November 24, 1922 to Cleo and Benjamin Mullen. She was the second of six children. Brothers and sisters, Dorothy, Donald, Ben, and Jean preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Charlie; daughters, Ellen, Mary and Lee; and grandchildren, Andy, Chelsea, Sarah, Brian, and Katie. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (Bob) Mullen; and many nieces and nephews. Margie is best known for her ability to find the best in everyone and to make everyone a best friend. She was also our treasure trove of memories and information. Perhaps most of all, we will miss her grace and understanding ways. She will always be with us, and we will do our best to be her ambassadors of goodwill to all. Many thanks to her caregivers over the last year, Autumn, Jackie Michelle, Lisa, Mark and Bonnie, whose excellent help and caring spirits made this journey easier. A memorial service will be held at Parkway Presbyterian Church at 1000 Yorkshire Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 Wednesday February 23 at 11am. Family and friends are invited to her home afterwards.
