Marjorie B. Gangwani, 81, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina departed this life on February 1, 2016. She was preceeded in death by her parents, sisters, Myrtle, Merlin, and brother Archie
Benson. She is survived by her husband Victor Gangwani (Vishnu) J. Gangwani, one daughter Alka, her husband, Vikram Singh, and two grandchildren Aditi and Aditiya of India; one younger, sister Meena B. Lall; brother in law, Ajit (Sam) Lall of Richmond VA; step children, Reshma Gangwani (Jon Tyndali), Raj Gangwani and his wife Lisa, and their children Lagan, Liam, and Asha. She leaves behind many relatives, several nephews and many nieces whom are very close to her. We would like to acknowledge the special care and attention from her loving caregivers Kitra Miller and Andrea Chestnut. Also, nephews Ajit Tiwari, Amarjit, Sanjay and Sharad Lall. We are blessed that Margie was in a peaceful loving environment when she went to Heaven. Marjorie migrated to the United States in 1963 and enrolled in VCU to finish her Master's Degree in English. She taught for a few years in King and Queen County High School and then moved to North Carolina with her husband Victor Gangwani. There she became very popular in the Indian Community and was President of the association for several years. Marjorie was very generous and caring and giving to all people and charities. She was a fine Christian and participated actively at Maple Springs Methodist Church until her health prevented her to do so. Memorial and Celebration of life will be held in Winston-Salem at Maple Springs United Methodist Church on Monday February 8, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Victor will be greeting friends after the memorial service. We request no flowers, but donations may be made to Maple Springs United Methodist Church or Hospice of WSNC. Graveside services were held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond, VA Friday February 5, 2016 at 11:00 am.
