Marissa Chilton Barefoot

Marissa Haleigh Chilton Barefoot, 22, passed away March 9, 2016 at Moses Cone Health. Marissa was born on June 4, 1993 in Guilford County. In the words of her Uncle Curtis, Marissa was a positive, always smiling, kind and uplifting person. She made the sun seem brighter, the leaves more colorful, the birds sing louder, the mountains taller and the ocean more blue. Her smile was contagious and she generously shared her smile and kindness with all she met.


Marissa is survived by her husband, Adam Barefoot; three children, Cole, Jaxson and Gracelynn Barefoot; her mother, Brenda Chilton; two sisters, Yvonne Kimball and husband, Steven (a father-figure to Marissa) and Michelle Duncan; and many loving friends and family - especially close cousins, Brittany, Chris ""Bubba"" and Ryan, who Marissa shared many life events with.


A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church.

Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
