Marilynn Patterson

Mrs. Marilynn Black Patterson passed away Wednesday evening May 18, 2022, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on May 9, 1938, to the late Gillen Grafton Black and Alice Williard Black. Marilynn retired from US Airways. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, board member of the Scholarship Fund, and member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Choir. Marilynn was always there to help others in need, from delivering food to shut-ins, caring for the disabled, and helping take care of her family. There was nothing more important to Marilynn than church and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles David Patterson, Jr; two sisters; and two brothers. Marilynn is survived by a son Charles David Patterson III; daughter Sue P. Ayers (Ron); sister Jill Chucci (Joe); five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Marilynn's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday May 22, 2022, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Mary Miller officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. There will be a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilynn's memory to Mt.
