Marilyn Ellison

Mrs. Marilyn Grace Gleason Ellison, 82, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Forsyth Memorial Center. Mrs. Ellison was born in Boston, MA to the late Herbert Gleason and Marian Ambler Gleason on October 10, 1935. She loved to travel, being at the ocean and one of her favorite places was Boothbay Harbor in Maine. Marilyn was a social butterfly that never met a stranger, she enjoyed taking all kinds of pictures, if you stood still long enough she would take one of you! Marilyn had a love for animals and was a selfless person. Mrs. Ellison was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Herbert Gleason. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, David Ellison of the home, two sons, David W. Ellison (Deborah) and Michael Ellison (Laura); two daughters, Suzanne Donnelly (John) and Kristina Barr (Todd); three grandchildren, Samuel, Henry and Charlie Ellison; two step grandchildren, Melanie Doyle and Morgan Castor, three step great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Gleason and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 with Rev. Kevin Kilbreth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Humane Society of Forsyth County, 4881 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
