Marilyn June Burrows Crozier of Rochester, Michigan died January 20, 2021 at the age of 92. Loving mother of Debbie Nirdlinger, John Crozier, Roger Crozier and Jane Crozier; dear grandmother of 5; and great grandmother of 13.
Marilyn enjoyed the challenge of raising her children and pets while working. One of her most meaningful accomplishments, in addition to raising her kids and seeing them further their education, was to return to school and obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Marilyn was a registered nurse for over thirty years; working in the nursery and neonatal units. She took great care in looking after the babies and ushering couples into their new lives as parents.
When Marilyn found spare time; she liked to garden, bake, sew, and knit. Over the years, there had always been a flurry of excitement from children of all ages, over the smell of fresh baked goods or the sight of a newly knit sweater.
After retirement, Marilyn was involved with the Unity Church of Rochester and the Older Persons Commission. At Unity, she served on the board and participated in book studies. At both Unity and OPC, she started knitting groups and taught knitting for many years. Marilyn also loved to travel. She visited China, the Caribbean islands, and Europe. Most importantly, Marilyn made annual trips to visit family and friends throughout the US and Canada. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial for Marilyn is planned for Saturday, February 27, 2021, 1:00p.m. at Triad Baptist Church located at 1175 South Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284; upper level parking lot. Marilyn will be interred in Rochester Hills, Michigan at a later date.
