Marilyn Pitts Alston

KERNERSVILLE - Marilyn Pitts Altson, 83, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born January 4, 1929 in Danville, VA to the late James and Wealthy Walker Pitts. Mrs. Alston attended Calvary Baptist Church in Kernersville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Bruce Alston. Surviving are her two daughters, Debbie Harden and husband, Danny, Sue Collins and husband, James; three sons, Richard Cornell and wife, Angie, Donald Druck and wife, Sue, Kenny Alston and wife, Tanya; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; one sister, Violet Bray; and one brother, Jack Pitts. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, January 13, 2012 at Mt. Gur Cemetery with Rev. David Neese officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Kernersville. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103.
