Marie Andrews Wright

Mrs. Marie Andrews Wright, 87, of Winston-Salem died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Brian Center in Lexington. She was born September 9, 1927 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Reid and Lou Scott Andrews. Mrs. Wright was a longtime member of New Friendship Baptist Church and was a baker in the cafeteria at Parkland High School. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Wright and two brothers, Mark Scott and Dwayne Andrews. Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Wright Boggs and husband, Marty of Thomasville; three sons, Ralph Darnell and wife, Laura and Billy Wright and wife, Nina of Lexington and James Darnell of Rhonda; seven grandchildren, Christina Lawson, Kandra Bondurant, Vanessa Wright, Kelly Darnell, Michael Gilmore, Dennis Gilmore and Amy Gilmore; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 PM at New Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Byrne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
