Marie Medlin Woodlief

WINSTON-SALEM, NC-Mrs. Marie Medlin Woodlief, 89, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born on September 2, 1925 in Dillion, SC to Percy Byron and Ila Pittman Medlin. She was employed with Western Electric where she retired after loyally working for many years. She was a charter member of Faith Church for all of her adult life. Marie also loved working in her flower garden as well as knitting and other crafts. She also enjoyed making Christmas trays each year and giving them to family and friends. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband, James H. Woodlief; two sisters, Rosalie Wilson and Louise Bitsoli. She is survived by one son, James Richard Woodlief and wife Eva of High Point, NC; one daughter, Deborah Woodlief of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Tony, Mickey, Mark Woodlief, and Phillip McBride, and Brian Stout; 8 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, William ""Bill"" Medlin of Walkertown, NC, and Jack Medlin and wife Ann of Germanton, NC; and two sisters, Pearle Welch of New Orleans, LA, and Bert Harpe of Winston-Salem, NC. Marie lived a good life and now has gone home to be with her heavenly father and family. A funeral service for Marie will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Faith Church with Pastor Michael Gates officiating. Interment will follow at Faith Church Cemetery.
