Marie Franks Roberts

Marie Franks Roberts, 64, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a long battle with heart, lung, and kidney disease. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lois Furr; her brother, Mitch Franks; her mother, Doris Durden; and her aunt, Mabel Johnson. Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, Bruce Roberts; two daughters, Lisa Beeson of Winston-Salem and Amy Matlock of Borden, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Allison Beeson of Winston-Salem, Lily, Layne and Lacy McIntosh of Borden, Indiana. Marie was a member of the Vernon Forest Baptist Church. She was employed by the North Carolina Baptist Hospital for 12 years, retiring on disability. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 29 at Vernon Forest Baptist Church with Pastor James Brown, the Rev. Dr. Billy Martin, and the Rev. David Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
