Marie Conley

Advance, NC-Mrs. Marie Watkins Conley, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1923 in Moscow, TN, the daughter of Edward and Myrtle Walls Watkins. She was a member of the "Greatest Generation" who valued the importance of education as a building block to life. Marie enjoyed reading, square dancing, was an avid football fan and was a champion of the "underdog". Though a tiny and precious lady, her independence inspired all that knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Harold Conley; a son, William Harold Conley, Jr. and five siblings. Survivors include two sons, David Conley and wife, Jan of Advance, NC and Gerald Conley of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Megan Ewing and husband Ryan of Advance, NC and Matthew Conley and wife, Carly of Raleigh, NC and three great-grandchildren, Nora, Elodie and Abel.
