Marian Smith Horne

Mrs. Marian Smith Horne, 82, of Pffaftown, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at her residence. Marian was born on January 8, 1933 in Forsyth County to Marion Adolphus and Helen Dodson Smith. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crocheting, and she loved animals. She was a faithful member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. She volunteered at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and played scrabble twice a week at Vienna Village. In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband, William Morton Horne; one son, Terry Lee Dimmette; and one brother, Thomas H. Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Jeffares; one granddaughter, Diana Clinard; three great grandchildren, Joshua and Alexa Clinard and Victoria Altamirano; one great-great grandchild, Isabelle Jasso Clinard; one brother, Dodson Smith; sister-in-law, Myrtle Smith; and numerous Nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Marian will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Gus Thomas and Dr. Cecil Cave officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
