Maria Janos

Maria Ntasioti Janos passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 3, 1960, in Metaxades, Prasia-Evrytania. Maria was the daughter of the late George and Alexandra Ntasiotis. She is survived by her beloved husband of twenty nine years, Gus Vasilios Janos of Winston-Salem; two beautiful and loving children, Vivian Janos and Billy Janos of Winston-Salem; brother, Thoma Ntasioti of Greece; sister, Xrisanthi Bakousi of Greece and many loving nephews and nieces. A couple years after she moved to the United States to be the wonderful wife of Kostas, she started her beautiful family by having Vivian and a year later, Billy. Maria devoted her life, soul and mind to raise her "Koritsakim" Vivian and her "ilios" Billy, and loved, cherished and supported her husband Kostas until her very last days. Maria was the greatest fighter we've known, a true hero within our lives. The Greek community will never be able to fill the gap that Maria left behind her. She will always and forever live within our hearts. Maria was a woman with a lot of passions, like gardening, cooking, shopping and always loved to be around children. Maria, you may now go and follow your wishes to see your "xwrio", drink some water under the "platano", smell heaven's roses…Heaven is so lucky to have you! The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018, with a Trisagion service at 7:30 PM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services will be conducted at the church at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 25, 2018 with Father Demetri Kangelaris and Father Constantine Shepherd officiating.
