Margie Hopkins Sides

Walkertown, NC-Mrs. Margie Hopkins Sides, 82, of Walkertown, NC, passed away on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Margie was born in Rowan County to John William and Mary Ethel Wiles Hopkins. She was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church. She retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System after 17 years of service. Margie enjoyed gardening and she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by two sisters, infant Hopkins and Lucille; and three brothers, Ray, O.E., and Alford. She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Maxwell Sides; three children, Jeff Sides and wife Lydia of Rural Hall, Ronnie Sides and wife Cheryl of Winston-Salem, and Sheila S. Teague and husband Richie of Lexington; four grandsons, Ryan, Raymond, Brent, and Brandon; and one brother, Melvin Hopkins of Spencer, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Howard Wilburn officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
