Margie Cranfill Sechrist

SECHRIST Winston-Salem-Margie Cranfill Sechrist, 85, passed away Saturday, April 02, 2011 at Bermuda Commons. She was born October 22, 1925 in Forsyth County to the late John and Frankie Shugart Cranfill. Mrs. Sechrist was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, touching many lives through teaching and singing in the choir. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and later was a 15 year volunteer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Preceding her in death was her husband, Odell C. Sechrist, a grandson, Nicholas Sechrist, and a sister, Barbara Bobbie Womble. Surviving are three sons, Richard O. Sechrist and wife Debbie of Advance, Steve Sechrist and wife Mabel of Winston-Salem, and Christopher A. Sechrist and wife Wendy of Advance; five grandchildren, Lori Whitley and husband Matt, Ryan Sechrist, Brandon Sechrist and wife Karen, Jennifer Raub and husband Micah, and Christen Sechrist; two step-grandchildren, Lee and Sarah Fortescue; ten great-grandchildren, Jacob, Makenzie, Tyler, Kailey, Kelsey, Will, Hannah, Caleb, Jason, and Mia; also surviving is a brother, Johnny Ray Cranfill and wife Hilda of Danville, VA. According to her wishes, a graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2011 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Gary Byrum and Pastor Al Gilbert officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at Bermuda Commons in Advance for the care they provided Mrs. Sechrist.
