Margie Marguerett Delilah Nelson McKaughn passed away in her home Monday, February 23, 2009. She was born in Forsyth County March 9, 1930, to Harvey and Doskey Nelson. She was a lifetime member of Kernersville Friends Meeting. Beginning February 1972, she became the world's best grandma. She worked full time until 1985 when she retired from Talton's Color Laboratory. Her home and heart were always open to everyone. She is survived by her spouse of over 60 years, Richard Joseph ""Pearl"" McKaughn; three children, Vicky McKaughn Denny (spouse, Norman), Carolyn McKaughn Watson, Richard Glenn ""Dick"" McKaughn (spouse, Martha); five grandchildren, Denise Marie Watson, Dina McKaughn, Jenifer McKaughn Hall (spouse, Alan), Bryan King Denny (spouse, Eva); Richard Joseph Denny; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Bryana and Preston; sisters Judy Nelson, Mildred ""Mick"" Weavil; brothers, Roger Nelson, Ralph Nelson; sisters-in-law, Betty Nelson, Loree Nelson, Faye Nelson, Carol Nelson; a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. A celebration of her life will be held at Kernersville Friends Meeting, Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends at Kernersville Friends Meeting from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM. A private graveside service for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Forsyth County 101 Hospice Ln Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Kernersville Friends Meeting 320 N. Main St. Kernersville, NC 27284. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Forsyth County and Kernersville Friends Meeting for the loving support and care they have provided to our special loved one and our family.
