Margie Markland

Mrs. Margie Hartley Markland, age 97 of Advance, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at her home.  She was born September 17, 1921 in Forsyth County to the late Ira Vance Hartley and George Lippard Hartley.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Milton Markland.  Surviving are one daughter, Janice Jackson and husband Robert of Advance; two sons, Gary Markland and Dave Markland and wife Cheryl of Conover; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Advance United Methodist Church by Pastors Larry Thompson and Dennis Marshall.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
