Margie James Jenkins

WINSTON-SALEM-Mrs. Margie Elizabeth James Jenkins, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Jenkins was born on August 14, 1924 in Davie County, NC to the late Dallas Thomas James, Sr. and Douschka Spry James. Margie was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and worked at Thalhimers Department Store. She was a member of Pinedale Christian Church where she served in the nursery for over 30 years. Margie enjoyed cooking for her family and planting flowers at her home. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Louie C. Jenkins; two brothers, D.T. James, Jr. and Donald James; and two sisters, Wanda Huggett and Jackie Whitaker. Mrs. Jenkins is survived by two daughters, Pam Buie (Drew) and LuAnn Wilson (Wayne), all of Winston-Salem; two granddaughters, Kelly Jones (David) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Emily Pelsue (Aaron) of Carmel, Indiana; five great-grandchildren, Mia, Jackson, and Eli Jones and Posey and Glory Pelsue. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Bill McKenzie officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Margie was affectionately known as ""Gong Gong"" by her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
