Margaret “Marty” Heglar Mitchell, 86, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
Marty was born in High Point, NC on October 9, 1935 to the late Dennis Conrad Heglar and Emma Estelle Surratt Heglar. She was a graduate of High Point High School and during her high school years she played the viola in the All-State Orchestra for three years and in the “Messiah” for three years. During her teen years, Marty played the piano for her church in High Point and loved playing the piano throughout her life.
Marty and her husband Joe started their own data entry business, Alpha Omega Data Entry, in 1980 and Marty retired as president after 20 years of service. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she participated in many programs until she was no longer able to attend.
Marty and Joe raised five children together and enjoyed spending time with many grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. They considered themselves blessed by God beyond their greatest imaginations.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” E. Mitchell; two sons, Danny and Mike Mitchell; and sister, Martha Lovegreen.
Surviving family includes her children, Loretta “Lori” Langdon (Steve), Duane Mitchell (Samantha) and Kimberly Mitchell Wood Smith; 13 grandchildren, Shawn (Michelle), Shannon (Kim), Alena (Jon), Joshua, Jason (Brittany), Kenny (Kaitlin), Brian, Dean (Maggie), Brandon (Nichole), Joey, Amber, Derrick, Mark; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Bush and Rev. Ron Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will immediately follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park.
