Margaret Louise Caudle Wood

Winston-Salem- Mrs. Margaret Louise Caudle Wood, 93, passed away September 30, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born April 3, 1918 in Forsyth County to the late Thomas Brady and Ruth Spurgeon Caudle. Mrs. Wood was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 45 years of service. She was a member of Grace Baptist Temple, Chapel Sunday School Class, DMA's of Grace Baptist Temple, The Golden Girls, and Crosswinds Bible Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phonzo E. Wood; her sister, Hazel Cook of Lavonia, Michigan; and brothers, Oscar and Thomas Caudle. Surviving are a daughter, Sue and husband Ronald of Pfafftown, NC; a grandson, Michael Williams and wife Laurie of Clemmons; a granddaughter, Rhonda Hawfield and husband Hugh of Monroe, NC; great-grandsons, Eric and John Williams of Clemmons and Jake Hawfield of Monroe, NC; sisters, Evelyn Holder, Florence Gibson, Jean Carter of East Bend, Gerrie McDaniel, Jackie Shore and husband Gerald of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Cecil Caudle of Rural Hall, NC, Ray Caudle and wife Ruth of Clemmons, NC and Roger Caudle and wife Barbara of King, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. Loving thanks to special nieces Becky Matthews and Leslie McDaniel and her son, Chase. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, October 3, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Jim Bush and the Rev. Ron Hawkins officiating. The soloist will be Mrs. Woods nephew, Ray Caudle, Jr. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center, The Oaks at Forsyth, and the Hospice Team for their caring and support during Mrs. Wood's illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DMA's of Grace Baptist Temple, Hospice, or the charity of the donor's choice.
