Margaret Venable

Mrs. Margaret Eason Venable, 86, died Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was the daughter of Robert Allen and Margaret Estell Moore Eason and grew up in Sharpsburg, N.C. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Venable. Margaret had an innate desire to teach, and as such earned a degree with a major in math and minor in physical education at East Carolina University. She was included in the Who’s Who in American Colleges in her senior year. She earned a Master of Education degree in 1959. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed coaching and often worked as a counselor at camps, always encouraging her students to participate in extracurricular activities as part of their education. She served on various educational boards, she was active in her church and was a past president of The North Carolina Gideons Auxiliary. She found fulfillment in life through faith in her Lord and Savior, serving others, developing new friendships, both teaching and learning from them and experiencing new and varied activities through travels and a daring spirit. Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, January 26, at Forsyth Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Gideons International, Winston-Salem Camp, P.O.
