Margaret Ellen Kiger Tedder

Mrs. Margaret Ellen Kiger Tedder, 85, of Rural Hall, NC died at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, June 11, 2013. She was born in Rural Hall to Hobart McKinley and Sarah Moser Kiger. Mrs. Tedder was a graduate of Rural Hall High School and Draughn's Business College. She was an Administrative Assistant for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., Federal Land Bank and Sara Lee Knit Products. She became a member of Jefferson Church of Christ in September, 1940, where she served as Sunday School teacher 47 years. Mrs. Tedder became a Volunteer with King Outreach Ministry in 1990. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Tedder Essick of King, NC and Debra Tedder Cate of Lawrenceville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Sara Essick Marks and husband, David of Bloomington, Indiana, and their children, Elijah, Madison and Margaret (Maggie); Mark Thomas Essick and wife, Cindy of Flat Rock, Michigan and their children, Curran, Gage and Aidan; Emily Tedder Cate of Buckhead, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Betty (Francis) Spainhour and two brothers Billy (Yolanda) Kiger of Tobaccoville, NC and Wayne (Marie) Kiger of Winston-Salem, NC, and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary W. Kiger and Mrs. Betty T. Kiger. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lester Tedder, her parents and five brothers, Rev. Otis Kiger, Ellis Kiger, Willis Kiger, Fred Kiger and Roger Kiger. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 14 at 1 pm at Jefferson Church of Christ. Mrs. Tedder will lie in state from noon till 1 pm. Burial will follow the funeral service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary immediately after the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to King Outreach Ministry, P.O. Box 1450, King NC 27021 or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Home, Winston-Salem NC 27103. The family would like to thank the many caregivers of Mrs. Tedder at Gwinnett Medical Center, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
