Margaret Lenora Spainhour, 82, of Clemmons died peacefully at her home on October 9 2009 with her family at her side. Margaret was born on January 11, 1927 in Lenoir, North Carolina to the late Guy Hilliard and Willie Clay Ingram. She was the wife of Byron Alexander Spainhour. Margaret graduated from Mineral Springs High School and retired as a bookkeeper with Whiteheart Staffing. She was also employed at Indera Mills and Renn Enterprises in that capacity. Margaret was a long time member of Beck's Baptist Church and was a leader for the Circle Two Group, the Girl's Auxiliary and on the Fellowship Committee. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted mother, wife, and grandmother and a dear friend to many. She loved her flower gardens, dancing, trips to the beach and mountains, and caring for her home and family. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Byron; a son, Douglas K. Spainhour of Pfafftown and friend, Dianna Hoffman; two daughters, Elizabeth L. Spainhour of Greensboro and friend, Stacy Street; Kristina S. Southard and her husband, Bubba of Pawley's Island, S.C.; one grandson, Bo Southard and his wife Eloise of New York City; and her two sisters, Betty Whiteheart and Dot Tuttle and her husband L.A. of Winston-Salem and their respective families. The family is forever thankful to Margaret's round - the - clock angels, Teddy, Talkia, Sharon, Lucky, and Brenda. Additionally, the family is grateful for the support and care of Hospice and Palliative Care Center. A special thanks to Dee Wood who has been Margaret's close friend for many years. Visitation will be held at Beck's Baptist Church at 5505 Beck's Church Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27106 on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. conducted by Dr. Karl Minor and Dr. Ray Hamilton with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
