Margaret "Ann" Ring Matthews

Mrs. Margaret “Ann” Ring Matthews, 76, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, November 10, 2024. She was born on August 11, 1948, in Forsyth County, NC to Frank Payne and Lillian James Ring. Ann loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. She also loved spending time with her family and grandkids, who affectionately called her Nana. Ann will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her brother, William Frank Ring.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Terry Allen Matthews; three children, Michael Payne Matthews (wife, Barbara), Teresa Ann Bowman (husband, Chad), and Travis Allen Matthews (wife, Molly); six grandchildren, Matt Bowman, Abbi Bowman, Lani Bowman, Gabby Matthews, Bailey Matthews, and Mason Matthews; two brothers, Alvin Ring and Jerry Ring; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Ann will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Chuck Peters and Rev. Bruce Freeman officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
