Margaret King

Margaret C. King, 85, of Winston-Salem went to be with the Lord on September 20th, 2022 at Trinity Elms Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born on July 19, 1937 in Clemmons, NC to William Anderson & Minnie Luberta Wood Cornwell.

Margaret loved cooking, listening to music, and spending time with her family that loved her very much. She was a graduate of Clemmons High School in 1956.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca King of Winston-Salem, NC; siblings, Jane Cornwell of Yadkinville, NC, Peggy Saylor (Don) of Clemmons, NC, and Steve Cornwell of Clemmons, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Claude “Durwood” King; daughter, Anita Faith King; son, Claude Brandon King; brothers, Tom Cornwell, and Robert Cornwell; and sisters, Mary Sue Phillips, and Sarah Logan.

Margaret’s ashes will be spread at a later date. In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Margaret’s life, we ask that all who wish to participate make a donation to The Enrichment Center, 1006 Marshall Street SW, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
