Margaret Howerton

Margaret Estelle Bodford Howerton, 93, a resident of Kannapolis, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024. Margaret was born in Forsyth County, NC to the late Charles and Bessie Bodford on March 21, 1931. She worked in the textile and retail industries for many years. Margaret was a woman who loved God and who showed kindness and love to everyone. She loved her family immensely and enjoyed spending time with them. Margaret was a longtime member of Christ Wesleyan Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H Howerton; brothers, Willis, Charles, and Franklin Bodford; and sisters, Lucille Carter, Lena Gentry, and Alice Hockett.

Left to cherish Margaret’s memory is her daughter, Pam Jones (David) of Concord; grandchildren, David Jones, Jr (Rhonda) of Kannapolis, Chris Jones (Alicia) of Huntersville, and Erin Wagner of Concord; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Ethel Stanfield of Winston-Salem; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 12:00PM in Christ Wesleyan Church with Pastor Caleb Strickland officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00AM at the church.
