Mrs. Margaret Helen Edwards Miller, 90, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021. She was born in Forsyth County on March 31, 1930, to the late James Austin and Georgia Brewer Edwards.

Mrs. Miller graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1948. She married her husband, Guy Eugene Miller, on November 7, 1948. Mrs. Miller worked for Hanes and in 1950, she won the Ms. Hanes Knitting Contest. She was retired from the Winston-Salem Police Department as a crossing guard with twenty-nine years of dedicated service and also worked for Western Electric for ten years. After her working career, she became a homemaker. Mrs. Miller was a member of Hopewell Moravian Church, but grew up at Ogburn Memorial Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller is preceded in death by her husband, Guy Eugene Miller, and two brothers, Robert and Richard Edwards. Surviving are her three children: Susan Miller Dudley, Rodney Eugene Miller (Karen), and Jeffrey Steven Miller (Karen); seven grandchildren: Hope Miller Neal (Roger), Candace Matthews (Brian), Tim Van Horn (Amanda), Casey Dudley Snodgrass (Richard), Shane Dudley (Hailey), Jeremy Miller (Laura), and Brooke Miller Masten (Matt); eight great-grandchildren; sister, Louise Edwards Polk; brother, James Edwards; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A private inurnment will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Dave Merritt. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
