Margaret Snyder Harrison

Margaret Snyder Harrison passed away on February 22, 2017 at Salemtowne Retirement Community. Born on January 22, 1923 in Forsyth County to Treva Shore Snyder and John Wesley Snyder, Margaret graduated from Griffith High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Margaret married William T. Harrison (Bill) on September 5, 1942. She was a lifelong member of Advent Moravian Church where she served as a diener and past president of the Women's Fellowship. She was a member of the Griffith Club of Forsyth Extension Homemakers since 1950. She formerly had been in charge of the Clothing and Fashion Department at the Dixie Classic Fair. Margaret belonged to Forsyth Piecers and Quilters and had received many awards for her quilting and needle art. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; grandson, Jake Manoogian; and sisters, Elizabeth Johnson, Hilda Williams and Anne Foltz. Surviving are her daughters, Treva Myers and Mary Stevenson (John) of Raleigh and Jeanette Manoogian of Greensboro. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jeanelle Myers, Sarah Peterson, Sam Manoogian Jr (Caroline), Sarah Gabauer (Doug), Will Stevenson, and Margaret Stevenson; seven great grandchildren; a sister Jane Norris (Tom) of Raleigh and very special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday February 25, 2017 at Advent Moravian Church with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sapp and Rev. Carol Foltz officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Memorials should be made to Advent Moravian Church, 1514 W.
