Mrs. Margaret McClary Campbell, 87, of Winston-Salem, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 at the Brookridge Retirement Community. Mrs. Campbell was born September 17, 1921 in Williamsburg County, SC to the late David Hall and Mary Lucilla Montgomery McClary. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Winthrop University and taught Piano for many years. Margaret moved to Winston-Salem in 1952 with her husband, William Duncan Campbell, Sr. She was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was the Music Director for many years and was an active member of the church community as long as her health permitted. While living at Brookridge, she played the piano for many of the services held there. Margaret's life centered around her husband and their five children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years,William Duncan Campbell, Sr. and a brother, George Edward McClary. Surviving are five children; Mary Lucilla Hooper of Hudson, NC, William Duncan Campbell of Lexington, NC, Ellen Ann Magnifico and husband Paul of Marion, Iowa, David Chester Campbell and wife Lane of Franklin, NC, Martha Elizabeth McBride of Winston-Salem, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Sunday, January 11 at Hayworth-Miller FH, Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral will be conducted Monday, January 12, 2:00 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Bill Lindeman. Mrs. Campbell will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church Music Program, 1416 Bolton Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103
