Margaret Mildred Messick "Peggy" Burke

Margaret Mildred Messick ""Peggy"", 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Arbor Acres, Winston-Salem, N.C. on the morning of July 25, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Victoria Messick; brother, Jack; husband Amos and her great grandson Cade. She is survived by her son; Mike (Becky) Burke; Daughter Pat (Mike) Stone; grandchildren; Eric and David (Jen) Stone; Ian, Delvin, Patrick and Amanda Burke, and her three great-grandchildren, Avery, Colin, and Melanie Stone. Living most of her life in Dover, Delaware, she and Amos moved to Winston-Salem in 1993. Peggy served in the US Air Force in the 1950's. While primarily a homemaker, she also worked as a telephone operator and medical receptionist in Dover, and served as a volunteer at Dover's 'Kent General Hospital. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover and joined Kingswood United Methodist Church when she moved to North Carolina. There will be a celebration of her life 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 29 at Kingswood United Methodist Church in Rural Hall, N.C., with Rev. Sid Lanier officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In addition, there will be a service at Trader's Funeral Home in Dover, Delaware Monday, August 3 with interment following the service at Sharon Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the general fund at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 6840 University Parkway, Rural Hall, N.C. 27045.
