Margaret C. Brown

Margaret C. Brown, 80, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 8, 2016. She was born on August 31, 1935 to Crissie Elizabeth Faw Craver and Paul E. Craver in Forsyth County. Margaret was a faithful member of Immanuel New Eden Moravian Church. She was also employed as a secretary at Advent Moravian Church; and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Margaret loved to read. Even after her vision failed, she continued to enjoy books on tape, drawing on resources provided by NC Library for the Blind. She was a humble woman with a quiet, caring nature who will be remembered as a strong and devoted wife and mother. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Brown; as well as a sister, Rachel Flynt and a brother, Charles Craver. Surviving are her children, Laura Brown Hanes, Edward W. Brown, and Wesley R. Brown (Martee); granddaughter, Larkin Plemmons (Chris); great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Christopher Plemmons; brothers, Robert, Lewis, Glenn and Steve Craver, and their wives; and a sister Edith Harris. A brief graveside committal will take place prior to the church service at 11:00 AM, Wed., May 11, 2016 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, followed by a celebration of life service at 3:00 PM at Immanuel New Eden Moravian Church with Rev. Cheryl Cottingham officiating. The family will receive friends for 45 minutes prior to the service.
