Marcus Kent Hayes, Sr.

Winston-Salem- Mr. Marcus Kent Hayes, Sr., 60, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Marcus was born on June 21, 1956 in Forsyth County to John Henry and Willa Grey Holman Hayes. Marcus grew up in the Moravian church and was a career electrician. Marcus enjoyed being outdoors, loved going to the beach and earned his Eagle Scout Award as a teenager.
Marcus was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by one son, Kent Hayes and wife, Brittany, of Charlotte; his mother, Willa Grey Hayes Wood and husband, Alton Wood of Winston-Salem; his fiancé, Patty Parker; one brother, Wesley Hayes of Newport, NC; and one nephew, Tanner Hayes of High Point, NC.
A funeral service for Marcus will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Union Cross Moravian Church with Rev. Russ Williams officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall following the service.
