Marceline Perdue Blakley

KERNERSVILLE- Marceline Perdue Blakley, 78, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Marceline was born September 29, 1932 in Forsyth Co. to the late Albert Meredith and Nellie Nelson Perdue. She retired from Hanes Hosiery with 38 years of service and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Marceline was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Billie Gray Blakley. Surviving is one son, Kerry Gray Blakley (Therese Gilmore) of Pollocksville; three daughters, Bettina Howard (Terry) of Winston-Salem, Michelle Dodson (William) and Robin Shipley (Bert) all of Kernersville; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Shirley Baker (John), Jeanette Parsons, Lou Andrews (Bill) and Maxine Tesh (Bill). A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Mike Willard, Rev. Rick Warden and Rev. Wilson Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at the funeral home.
