Mamie Elizabeth Jones

Lewisville - Mrs. Mamie Elizabeth Phelps Jones, 100, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born July 29, 1913 in Forsyth County to Franklin Pharisee and Daisy Wood Phelps. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker raising six children. She was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church for over 70 years. She worked in the church kitchen during Vacation Bible School and also worked in the Nursery and Quilting Group. She was always at church when the doors were open. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Monroe Jones, Sr.; two brothers; and 1 sister. Surviving are three daughters, Anna Jones Hooker, Dorothy Jones Faircloth, and Daisy Jones Long; three sons, Henry Monroe Jones, Jr. (Judy), Thomas F. Jones, and Michael E. Jones (Toni); 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Lewisville Baptist Church with Dr. George Smith, Rev. Jo C. Bjorling, and Dr. Joe Coltrane officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lewisville Baptist Church, 125 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Lewisville, NC 27023 or the charity of donor's choice.
