Mae Viola Cruthers Butt

KERNERSVILLE-Mae Viola Cruthers Butt, 86, went to be with her Lord Jesus, Friday, November 6, 2009. She was born July 16, 1923 in Carroll Co., VA to the late Ralph Cruthers and Dora Cruthers Godfrey. Mrs. Butt was a longtime faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Butt and a brother, Cecil F. Cruthers. Surviving are, Lawrence Godfrey (Clara) of Winston Salem, Tommy Godfrey (Judy) of Sacramento, CA, Charlie Godfrey (Scarlet) of Charlotte, David Godfrey (Mertis) of Alexis; many nieces, nephews, special friends and family. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Butt family.
