Madhu Bala Soin

Our dear mother and wife Madhu Bala Sood Soin left us physically on 7/14/2023. However she will never leave us mentally. How could she- brilliant, beautiful, top chef, spiritual, truly one of a kind.

Madhu was born in New Delhi, India. Her parents B.R. & Santosh Sood instilled incredible values such as independence and a studious nature. Madhu graduated from Lady Harding medical school with a MD in Obstetrician and Gynecology.  She helped countless women and delivered many many babies for 8 years.

Madhu met her husband Dipak Lal Soin in 1979 and they wed in 1980. She said goodbye to her life in India to start a new one in Roanoke, VA on March 24 1980. Her daughter Pamela was born mere months after. After several years they moved to Beckley, WV and Madhu was the backbone of the family business.

In 1989 the Soin family moved to Winston-Salem, NC where they settled for the rest of dear Madhu’s life. She was a force in the local Indian community hosting countless events where she cooked for 80+ people. In addition to social functions she gathered  the local Hindu community for prayer many times.

Madhu took care of any persons needing medical care, no matter who they were.

Madhu is survived by her husband Dipak Soin, daughter Pamela Soin, her brother Vinay Mohan Sood and wife Sushma Sood, sister Sudha Sood and husband Gewan Mandel, her sister-in-law Aruna Sood, and caretaker friend Judy Hernandez-Alarcon.

Her parents, and brother Sudhir Sood precede her in death.

We will miss her dearly.
