Mable Elizabeth Ellis Bullard

Mrs. Mabel Elizabeth Ellis Bullard, age 88 of Winston-Salem, NC, passed on to be with her Lord Jesus on Saturday, December 17, 2011. Born on May 1, 1923 in Person County, NC to her parents John Cleveland Ellis and Nannie Elizabeth Mise Ellis, Mabel was the widow of Raymond Browning Bullard. She graduated high school in Marion, SC and attended business college in Winston-Salem, NC. She worked at R.J. Reynolds for 39 years and retired to care for her husband. They had no children. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church. She volunteered at Crisis Control Ministry and adopted families at Christmas each year. A true lady, strong-willed and independent, Mabel was very loving, giving and caring. She loved her friends and family dearly and will be missed immensely. Mabel is predeceased by her brother William James Ellis, and sisters: Ruth Ellis Rowell, Connie Ellis Bryant, Inez Ellis Turbeville, Aleese Ellis Richardson. Surviving is her sister, Ethel Mae Ellis Lane of Marion, SC. She has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews of North and South Carolina. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Jason Cogdill officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Crisis Control Ministry, 200 East Tenth Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, College Park Baptist Church,1701 Polo Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
