Mabel Lorene McDowell Wolfe

Mrs. Mabel Lorene McDowell Wolfe, of Walnut Cove, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on September 9, 1946 to the late Etta Jane Hall McDowell and Elmer Hall McDowell. Mrs. Wolfe retired from WS/FCS with over 20 years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo and adored spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wolfe was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gray Wolfe; two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her three children: Gray Wolfe (Patsy), Teresa Stewart (Terry) and Darrell Wolfe; four grandchildren: Christy, Cynthia, Justin and Amber; five great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Seal; brother, Kenneth McDowell; and special friend, Ruby Hutchins. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at Woodland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 6 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
