Mabel Delois Blackburn Tilley

Mrs. Mable Blackburn Tilley died Friday, February 25th, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born June 3rd, 1924, to Mr. and Mrs. William Rowan Blackburn in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She married Ray Tilley on the third day of March in 1944. She was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for over 32 years before her retirement in 1979. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her brother Rev. Francis Blackburn, and her only daughter, Brenda. Surviving in addition to her husband of 68 years are her three sisters; Lucille Flynt, Ruth Reid, and Nina Martin as well as several nieces and nephews and her granddaughter. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday March 1, 2011with the Rev. Arkon Stewart officiating at Woodland Cemetery.
