Mabel Rawson Rhodes

Mabel Marie Rawson Rhodes of 205 Wildwood Place, Clemmons, NC passed away on the evening of November 25th, 2009 after several years of declining health at WFU Baptist Medical Center's Palliative Care. She was born Jan 28th, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Irene Coyle Rawson. She is survived by her father, Henry W. Rawson of Pensacola, FL; her husband of 30 years, Don Rhodes; two sisters, Alice McKinney (Rodney) of Contonment, FL., and Barbara Bulman of Virginia Beach, VA; a mother-in-law, Elzie M. Rhodes of Madison, NC; a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Johnson (Gray) of Madison, NC, a brother-in-law, Rick Fulp (Terry) of Belmont, NC; and a special friend, who is considered as a daughter, Renee Cummings Sparks. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her. She worked in many retail positions over the years, but her last employment was with WFU Health Sciences and School of Medicine, where she was a patient representative. She never met a stranger and was a very giving person. She was affectionately known by many as The Angel Lady for her many gifts of Angels to anyone in need of a blessing or just to say thank you. Many thanks to the many Nurses, Physical Therapists, Skilled Nursing Facilities and Hospitals that have cared for her over the last few years. Also a special thanks to the Nurses & Staff at Piedmont Dialysis Center for their concern with her recent health issues. Visitation will be at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, NC on Saturday, Nov. 28th, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm . The Funeral Service will be conducted Sunday, at 2:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Madison, NC with the Dr. James Wall officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
