Mabel E. Brinegar Fowler

Mabel Elizabeth Brinegar Fowler, 81, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully on July 18, 2016. Mabel was born in Elkin, NC on June 22, 1935 to the late Eula and Guy Brinegar. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church from July 4, 1965 until 2003. She then joined Westside Baptist Church with her two daughters. Mabel enjoyed her teaching of the three-year-olds Sunday School Class at Calvary. Mabel was an avid reader. She is the proud author of ""Coming Home to Welcome Valley"" published in 2006. A memorable trip took place in 1999 when Mabel accompanied her husband on business travel to England. She travelled with her husband across much of the Eastern half of the United States. Mabel is survived by her husband, Alex Beauford Fowler; two daughters Robin Fowler and Holly Gitter (Ryne); two sons Gerald Fowler and Craig Fowler; one sister Rita Mounce (Carlie); three brothers Chesley Brinegar (Colleen), Walter Brinegar (Jeanette), and Ted Brinegar (Eloise). She is survived by four grandsons Gerald and Michael Fowler, and Patrick and Nicholas Gitter; and three great grandchildren. The family would like to express their thanks to the Yadkin Nursing Care Center and Assisted Living Magnolias Over Yadkin of Yadkinville, NC for their care and support. The family will receive friends at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, NC from 10:30 to 12:00 Noon on Saturday July 23. The funeral service will be conducted by Minister Guy Hipp beginning at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel at Hayworth-Miller on Saturday, July 23. Burial will follow the funeral at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family would also like to give a specials thanks to Dr. Alicia Beal at Novant Health, Dr. Soos at Blue Ridge Cardiology, and Dr. Cross at Care Connection, for their excellent care and compassion towards Mabel.
